Isn’t it remarkable how a building can tell a story? Refah Camii stands here. It is more than just bricks and mortar. It is a testament to faith and community.

Refah Camii is located in the Mimar Sinan district of Çekmeköy in Istanbul. The Refah Camii first opened its doors on June 15 1999. It welcomes all to prayer and reflection.

Çekmeköy itself has an interesting story. Back in 1980, it was a welcoming place for those seeking new beginnings. It is like Orhan Çerkez who arrived from Ardahan. He found Çekmeköy to be a land of green spaces fresh air and new dreams.

Çekmeköy transformed from a small town into a district in 2009. Alemdağ, Taşdelen and Ömerli joined it. The population nearly doubled from 155000 to 300000.

The Refah Camii has a single minaret. It also has an Imam-Hatip and a Müezzin-Kayyum. These are important for the daily functioning of the mosque. Natural gas provides heating. There is even accommodation available. Refah Camii also has a place for latecomers.

Orhan Çerkez became the Mayor of Çekmeköy. He is one of the residents since 1980. He appreciates the needs of his neighbors. He wants to create a sustainable Çekmeköy. He envisions a future where everyone smiles. He wants to enrich Çekmeköy with art and culture.

Refah Camii embodies this sense of community. It stands as a place of worship and a symbol of hope. It reminds us of Çekmeköy’s growth and the dreams of its people. Refah Camii is not just a building. It is a living part of Çekmeköy’s story. It is open to all for prayer and reflection. Refah Camii is a beacon of faith in a changing world.
