Redwoods Golf Course boasts a rich history. It started life as a tourist camp and picnic grounds in 1923. Arnie Robertson bought the 70-acre site. It blossomed into a popular recreation spot for Aucklanders and tourists alike. Three swimming pools tennis courts miniature golf running tracks and miniature railways entertained visitors. In 1970 the Redwood Park Country Club was formed. It evolved into the Redwood Park Golf Club we know today.

The club faces modern challenges. Rising costs put pressure on membership fees. To secure its future the Friends of Redwood fund was established in 2022 under the Auckland Foundation.
