Redriff Primary School

Beyond the bustle of London, nestled in Rotherhithe, lies Redriff Primary School. It’s a place that echoes with the laughter and learning of generations, though its halls are now quiet. Redriff Primary School officially closed its doors on October 31, 2011. Its story, however, continues. The school, located on Salter Road, catered to children aged 3 to 11. It was a community school, welcoming boys and girls. It even had nursery classes and special classes for children with specific needs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Redriff Primary School had a capacity of 420 pupils. Although records of the exact number of students are unavailable, the school had resourced provisions for pupils with ASD. In 2011, Redriff Primary School transitioned into an academy. This marked a new chapter in its history. It became Redriff Primary, City of London Academy, under the City of London Academies Trust. The new academy boasts an “Outstanding” Ofsted rating. It continues the legacy of education on Salter Road, serving the community with a larger capacity of 470 pupils. While the original Redriff Primary School may be gone, its spirit lives on in the thriving academy that stands in its place.
