The Wheatley Church of God In Christ started with Elder Thomas Tolbert at the helm. After his passing, Elder Joe S. Jackson took over. The Haynes Chapel Church of God In Christ was under the leadership of Superintendent F.L. Haynes. The two congregations finally merged to form Rebirth Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor J. Neaul Haynes.
