Two congregations, Wheatley Church of God In Christ and Haynes Chapel Church of God In Christ, merged to form this strong community. They were originally in the Southern Sector of Dallas. The Wheatley Church of God In Christ started with Elder Thomas Tolbert at the helm. After his passing, Elder Joe S. Jackson took over. The Haynes Chapel Church of God In Christ was under the leadership of Superintendent F.L. Haynes. The two congregations finally merged to form Rebirth Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Pastor J. Neaul Haynes. Rebirth Church of God In Christ is a testament to the resilience of faith and a reminder of the rich history and cultural importance of this city. The church stands tall, a cornerstone of this neighborhood, welcoming all who seek solace and spiritual guidance.
