Reach Academy Feltham opened its doors in 2012. It welcomed its first students in Reception and Year 7. The academy quickly established itself as a unique educational institution. It is an all-through free school. This means it offers education from early years to sixth form.
In 2015, Reach Academy Feltham expanded. It opened its nursery. This allowed the school to accept children as young as two years old. The all-through structure creates a sense of belonging. It allows pupils to remain in a familiar environment. It also helps them to build strong relationships with teachers and peers.
The Reach Academy Feltham’s founders shared a common belief. They believed in the potential for greatness in every child. They include Jon McGoh, Rebecca Cramer, and Ed Vainker OBE. Their vision was to create a school where all pupils could thrive.
The school moved into its permanent home in November 2014. It is located on Feltham High Street. By then, the school had grown to 340 pupils. In 2014, Reach Academy Feltham achieved a significant milestone. It was judged as outstanding by Ofsted. This made it the first all-through free school to receive this recognition.
The academy has a carefully designed environment. It fosters a sense of community and strong relationships. The building is structured into phases. Each phase contains three-year groups. This emulates the feel of a smaller school within a larger community.
The Reach Academy Feltham celebrated excellent GCSE results in 2017. This placed it among the top schools in the country. In 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge visited the school. She wanted to learn about the support provided to pupils and parents.
During the 2020 school closures, Reach teachers played a vital role. Twelve teachers helped set up Oak National Academy. They provided 180 lessons a week for pupils. This ensured continued learning during challenging times.
In 2022, Reach Academy Feltham adopted a co-headship model. This prepared the school for further expansion. In September 2024, Reach Academy Hanworth Park opened. This marked another significant milestone in the academy’s journey.
