Is it possible that a simple quai could whisper tales of chemical factories and media giants? This is Quai de Boulogne. This quai sits in Boulogne-Billancourt. It is in the Hauts-de-Seine department of France. Once known as the Chemin de Halage de Billancourt. This path received a new name on June 29, 1892. It became Quai de Boulogne.

Now known as Quai Alphonse-Le-Gallo. The street pays homage to Alphonse Le Gallo. He was once the mayor of the town.

Imagine this quai in the 19th century. Properties and parks lined its side. But the turn of the century brought change. Companies began to appear. The Compagnie des Eaux arrived. Gobron-Brillié also settled here. They were car manufacturers. Even the Seine laundries made their home here.

During World War I, Quai de Boulogne faced danger. Raids targeted the quai and Avenue des Moulineaux. The avenue is now Avenue Pierre-Grenier.

Today, a building stands at number 46. From 1925 to 1928, it was the “Le Matériel téléphonique” factory. In 1930, it employed 3,400 workers. The factory covered 50,000 square meters. From 2007 to 2015, it housed the Thomson Multimedia group. Since 2015, it has been an OECD hub.

Also located here were the old Seine laundries. Not far from here, the municipal sports park spreads out. Once, it was the estate of Baron Adolphe de Rothschild.

The Point-du-Jour was a well-known place. It lent its name to a gate of Paris. This gate was in the 16th arrondissement. Interestingly, the quai does not cross this district.

Boulogne-Billancourt is more than just a suburb. It is a dynamic hub. It has economic and cultural significance. It is also a great place to live. It is the top business park after Paris. LVMH and Renault have headquarters here. Bouygues Immobilier and Telecom are also here. You will also find LCI, TF1, and Sephora.

Boulogne-Billancourt is a city of art and history. It boasts France’s largest architectural heritage. It aims to be the Grand Paris area’s top cultural spot. This quai has witnessed industrial shifts. It has seen wartime struggles. It is now a place of business and recreation. Quai de Boulogne embodies the city’s evolution. It connects its past to its present.
