Embracing the essence of Balinese architecture, Pura Tribhuwana Agung Depok Timur stands before us. It’s a beacon of Hindu devotion in the heart of Depok. Pura Tribhuwana Agung Depok Timur’s story begins in 1982. The local Hindu community received a generous land donation of 1,000 square meters from Perumnas Cab. III. Construction began in 1985. The Pura Tribhuwana Agung Depok Timur was officially inaugurated on October 8, 1994. The inauguration ceremony, known as Upacara Ngenteg Linggih, marked a significant milestone.

The name “Tribhuana Agung” itself holds deep meaning. It refers to the three paths to achieve Moksa, or liberation. These paths are Dharma (truth), spiritual practice, and ultimately, achieving oneness with God (Sang Hyang Widhi). Pura Tribhuwana Agung Depok Timur’s design reflects Balinese architectural principles. The structure symbolizes three levels: earth, the path to Moksa, and the divine realm (Astana). Unlike traditional Tri Mandala layouts, Pura Tribhuwana Agung Depok Timur follows an Eka Mandala concept. This single, sacred space houses the main shrine (Pelinggih Padma), the Taman San, and the Bale Pawedan. The Madyaning Mandala, typically a separate area, is integrated here. It houses the Dapur Suci (holy kitchen) and Bale Gong. The Bale Banjar, normally in the outer Nistaning Mandala, is also part of this space. It serves as a meeting place for the community.

Pura Tribhuwana Agung Depok Timur isn’t just a physical structure. It’s a living testament to the community’s devotion. They maintain the Pura meticulously, both physically and spiritually. Daily offerings and prayers are a vital part of their practice. The community also performs regular ceremonies according to the Hindu calendar. These include observances for the full moon (Purnama), new moon (Tilem), and Kajeng Kliwon. They also celebrate major Hindu holidays like Galungan, Kuningan, Saraswati, Pagerwesi, Piodalan, and Nyepi. The community’s dedication extends beyond their own faith. They actively foster interfaith harmony with their neighbors. They often lend their space for parking during other religious events and assist with traffic management. This spirit of cooperation reflects their belief in “Wasu Dama Kulubaku”. This principle emphasizes the interconnectedness of all beings.
