Office workers, teachers, students, and athletes now seek blessings within its walls. A sacred banyan tree dominates the west side of Pura Swagina Tamansari. Locals believe its trunk and leaves embody a mystical giant snake, adding to the temple’s aura of spiritual power. Below this tree lies a cave, rumored to connect the temple to the sports complex. Three dragons are said to reside here: Anantaboga, ruler of the earth, Basuki, protector of plants, and Taksaka, guardian of the air. They maintain nature’s delicate balance, a power honored in the temple’s rituals. Every year, the full moon of Sasih Jiyesta marks Pujawali, the temple’s anniversary. Thousands gather, especially students and athletes seeking blessings for exams and competitions. Pura Swagina Tamansari is a place of hope, a “lucky place” for those seeking victory. Pura Swagina Tamansari has seen mystical events, too. In 1998, a mass trance swept through schools along Jalan Kamboja. Students fell into trances, believed to be caused by the temple’s potent energy. Now, these schools regularly pray at Pura Swagina Tamansari for protection. The tradition continues, especially during crucial times like admissions and exams. Pura Swagina Tamansari stands as a testament to Bali’s adaptable spirituality. It has evolved from a farmer’s sanctuary to a place of hope for all. Seven banjar, along with the Brimob dormitory, now manage it. Pura Swagina Tamansari embodies inclusivity and tolerance, a place where prayers rise, and hopes for victory and success take flight.
