The name means ‘betel nut pouch temple’.
Bendesa Manik Mas was deeply moved by this event. He recognized the divine significance. He constructed a pesraman a traditional Balinese dwelling. He also built Pura Buk Jambe. He sought spiritual guidance. He asked for blessings from Ida Betara Sakti. The prince offered his daughter Diah Nyai Gumitir. Ida Betara Sakti accepted the offering. A linga a representation of the deity was placed in Pura Buk Jambe. This linga is known as Betara Kidul or Betara Buk Cabe.
Today Pura Buk Jambe remains a place of worship. It’s revered by Balinese Hindus. They still visit this sacred place. They perform ceremonies and prayers. Pura Buk Jambe’s history is interwoven with the very fabric of Balinese culture.
