Beneath the grandstand’s shadow at Pro Ventilation Arena Hvidovre, a story unfolds. This isn’t just a stadium. It’s a living, breathing chronicle of Hvidovre’s sporting triumphs and aspirations. Pro Ventilation Arena Hvidovre, formerly known as Hvidovre Stadion, opened its gates in 1935. Hvidovre IF adopted the stadium as their home in 1938. Imagine the roar of the crowd in 1966. A record 13,400 spectators packed into Pro Ventilation Arena Hvidovre. They witnessed Hvidovre IF clinch their first Danish Football Championship. This victory spurred the installation of floodlights, illuminating future evening matches. The stadium has undergone several transformations. A grandstand, inspired by Valby Idrætspark, was added in 1970, seating 5,000. Renovations in 1976, 1992, and 2003 kept the facilities modern. Further upgrades in 1996 prepared Pro Ventilation Arena Hvidovre for the Danish Superliga. A new TV platform and improved amenities were added. In 2014, the floodlights were boosted to 1,000 lux, meeting Superliga broadcasting standards. The stadium isn’t just for football. It’s a multi-sport complex covering 72,000 square meters. There’s a running track, athletic facilities, tennis courts, and even a fitness center. Pro Ventilation Arena Hvidovre has also seen its name change with sponsorships. From Office Center Arena to Kæmpernes Arena, it now proudly bears the name Pro Ventilation Arena. The stadium’s capacity has fluctuated over the years. From 12,000, it was reduced to 6,400 after the running track expansion in 2016. However, temporary seating has since increased the capacity. Pro Ventilation Arena Hvidovre stands as a testament to Hvidovre’s enduring sporting spirit.
