This marked a new chapter for the school, rising like a phoenix from the ashes of its predecessor. Preston Lodge High School has been a landmark of education in Prestonpans, Scotland since its establishment in 1924. Originally serving students from a wider area, including Tranent, the school’s reach gradually focused on its immediate surroundings: Cockenzie, Port Seton, Longniddry, Blindwells, and of course, Prestonpans itself. The fire of 1967, though a tragedy, brought out the indomitable spirit of the school. The motto “We lost a school but we found a school spirit,” resonated deeply, showcasing their resilience. Today, Preston Lodge High School stands as a testament to this spirit, a beacon of education nurturing nearly a thousand students.
