A vibrant community blossomed. That’s the story of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. In 1950 109 people signed the charter. Within a year membership soared to 223. Services were held at Texas Country Day School now St Mark’s School of Texas. The Presbytery initially secured land on Tibbs and Stichter streets. This land was designated for future churches. This land was gifted to the fledgling Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. However some forward-thinking members proposed a trade. They traded the original site for an acre at Preston and Aberdeen. They believed this location was far more suitable for growth. The first building campaign launched in 1951. Early members showed remarkable dedication. They even used their homes as collateral to secure the mortgage for construction. This bold move allowed construction to begin. Today Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church stands as a testament to this faith and foresight. It is one of the largest Presbyterian churches in Dallas boasting nearly 3000 members. The church’s growth reflects a commitment to its mission. That mission is to awaken all to God’s presence in every season of life. Its vision is a world where everyone feels they belong to God and to each other. Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church offers a variety of ministries. These include a grief support group called Good Grief. This group provides a safe space for people to share their experiences of grief. The church actively works to make disciples and impact the community through service and education. So stand before Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. Let its history inspire you.
