Post Proper Northside was established in 1972. For years, it was part of Makati. The barangay even overlapped with Fort Bonifacio. There was a dispute between Makati and Taguig. Taguig won the battle. In 2023, Post Proper Northside became part of Taguig. This shift marked a new chapter for the barangay and its residents.
The Post Proper Northside area covers 2.376 square kilometers. That is about 0.917 square miles. Most of Bonifacio Global City falls within its boundaries. A smaller section sits between Cembo and West Rembo. This area includes Makati City Jail. It also has Teachers’ Compound and Villa Kalayaan. These are north of Kalayaan Avenue.
In 2020, the population was 57,940. At the time, it was Makati’s second most populous barangay. After the transfer to Taguig, it became the fourth most populous.
Like other barangays in the Philippines, Post Proper Northside has a barangay captain. This person is the chief executive. Richard Pasadilla is the current barangay captain. There is also a Sangguniang Kabataan chairman. Joshua Daniel Espejo holds this position.
