“A bridge rebuilt, not once, but twice?” you might ask, squinting at the sturdy form of Pont Seibert. It’s true! This bridge has a story more intricate than its simple arches might suggest. Constructed in 1931, Pont Seibert served Paris faithfully for nearly a century. But time, as it often does, demanded progress. In 2018, a difficult decision was made. The Pont Seibert, showing its age, was carefully dismantled. This wasn’t an end, but a transformation. A brand new Pont Seibert, stronger and sleeker, was built in its place. This new bridge, inaugurated in November 2021, is more than just a crossing. It’s a testament to Paris’ commitment to both its history and its future.
