The Pioneer Building stands at 2185-2199 Folsom and 3180 18th Streets. Look up. Notice the classic color palette. It highlights the original hand-painted sign for the Pioneer Trunk Factory.
The Pioneer Building is more than just a pretty facade. It is a three-story corner factory with a story to tell. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was listed in 1987 as “Pioneer Trunk Factory–C. A. Malm & Co.”
Fast forward to recent times. The Pioneer Building has adapted. In early 2014, Bridgeton acquired the building for $17.5 million. Later, American Realty Advisors bought it for $34 million.
For a decade Musk Industries leased the entire building. At the time of sale, the asset was fully leased to Musk Industries.
Once, the Pioneer Building housed the offices of Stripe. In 2020, OpenAI and Neuralink moved in.
Consider the location of the Pioneer Building. It provides access to public transport, dining, and shopping. Gallardo’s and Evergreen Garden Restaurant are nearby. The Bayshore Freeway and Dwight D. Eisenhower Highway are also close.
