In 1950, a seed of education was planted. This seed blossomed into the Philippine Chen Kuang High School. Right here, at 210 P. Parada Street, Mr. Ho Tsu Hsing established this institution. Philippine Chen Kuang High School stands as a testament to his vision. Originally, it was a modest structure, lovingly nicknamed the “Spanish House”. It offered elementary classes, nurturing young minds in English, Filipino, and Chinese. The school thrived. It expanded its reach, adding a high school program in a modern, 40-classroom building. Philippine Chen Kuang High School continued to grow under the leadership of various principals. Each leader contributed to its evolution. Mrs. Monica Fan Ming Ying oversaw the construction of a second building, complete with a gymnasium, library, and labs. Philippine Chen Kuang High School celebrated its golden anniversary with a talent show titled “A New Dawn”. Dr. Steve Christopher Wong ushered the school into the 21st century. He championed technological advancements, equipping classrooms with multimedia tools and establishing a digital speech laboratory. Philippine Chen Kuang High School embraced the K-12 curriculum, offering senior high school with diverse academic tracks. Philippine Chen Kuang High School even achieved Level 1 Status from the ACSCU-ACI, a significant milestone showcasing its commitment to quality education. The school earned recognition for its innovation and community partnership. The Philippine Chen Kuang High School continues to flourish under the guidance of its dedicated board, administration, faculty, and staff. They remain committed to providing a world-class, 21st-century education to students from preschool to Grade 12.
