Dreams can become reality. Here we stand before the Pentecostal Covenant Church. It is a testament to faith and community.
Pentecostal Covenant Church started with a vision. Suffragan Bishop Wilford T. Hairston Sr. founded it in June 1995. He started with his wife and family. The church began with only two families. God has truly blessed their work since then.
Bishop Hairston’s journey is quite inspiring. He served in the military. Later, he became a journeyman electrician. He worked for the City of Seattle for 27 years. He retired as the first Black director of Seattleās inspection services.
Before founding Pentecostal Covenant Church, Hairston served at Grace Apostolic Temple. He was the Assistant Pastor under Bishop Roland E. Hairston.
In 2004, Bishop Curtis E. Montgomery elevated Hairston to District Elder. This happened within the Pacific Northwest District Council. In 2015, he became Suffragan Bishop under Bishop Roland E. Hairston.
Minister Jo Ann Hairston plays a vital role. She and her husband have been married for over 50 years. They have four children and ten grandchildren. She is a licensed minister. She speaks on women and youth issues. The couple facilitates marriage seminars. Their theme is “Empowered by God to Empower Others.”
Associate Pastor Terry L. Easter-Hairston also contributes significantly. He is dedicated to helping people grow spiritually. He preaches a transformative word. He expands his ministry to homeless shelters. He leads the Isaiah 58 Project. He meets the needs of the less fortunate.
Pentecostal Covenant Church embodies community spirit. It focuses on faith. It impacts lives. It started small. It grew through dedication. The church continues to empower others. It makes a difference in Seattle. The Pentecostal Covenant Church has deep roots. It will continue to flourish. Its story is one of service.
