What secrets does Peille hold, etched into its ancient stones? Perched between Monaco and Menton, Peille isn’t just a picturesque village. It’s a time capsule, whispering tales of Ligurian tribes, medieval fortifications, and powerful families. Peille overlooks the River Peillon, a silent witness to centuries of history. High above the village stand the ruins of a 13th-century château, a stark reminder of Peille’s strategic importance. Peille’s narrow streets and small squares invite you to step back in time. The Palais des Consuls, a 14th-century courthouse, stands as a testament to Peille’s self-governance.
