It depicts Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, in mid-speech. The Patung Soekarno – Penyambung Lidah Rakyat Statue isn’t just a statue. It’s a symbol. It represents Sukarno’s powerful oratory skills. He was known as “Penyambung Lidah Rakyat,” which translates to “The Connector of the People’s Tongue.” The statue embodies this connection. This park, also known as the Proclamation Grand Park, is located at the roundabout of the Barong Flower Statue Park on Jalan Letda Tantular. The statue itself is quite impressive. It measures 4 meters high and 3 meters wide. It was installed in the park on June 2nd. This project was the brainchild of the Bung Karno Library Foundation. They also funded the creation of the statue. The Denpasar City Parks Department manages the surrounding parkland.
