Ever felt the soothing embrace of 70°C thermal water? Welcome to the Paskál Gyógy- és Strandfürdő.

This isn’t just any Budapest thermal bath. It’s the city’s youngest. Opened in 1989 it’s a modern oasis. But its story began much earlier. In 1965 a deep well near the site of the famous Paskál mill unearthed a remarkable spring. This thermal water rich in calcium magnesium and hydrogen carbonate is incredibly beneficial. It’s particularly good for those with joint problems or chronic inflammation.

The mill itself deserves a mention. Built by György Paschgall in around 1745 it was so significant it gave its name to a nearby street. György and his family weren’t just millers. They were influential figures in Pest’s city council. Their legacy lives on in this spa.

In 2016 the Paskál Gyógy- és Strandfürdő underwent a major expansion. A new indoor facility opened. This includes various pools a special geothermal sauna. This sauna uses the thermal water for a unique high-humidity experience. This ensured the spa became a year-round destination.

Today you can enjoy several pools. There are indoor medicinal pools warm and cold plunge pools. There’s an experience pool with a swim-up bar too. Outside there’s a year-round swimming pool a warm pool and a seasonal beach pool. Children are well catered for with dedicated pools and playgrounds. The spa also offers a wide range of wellness services. These include massages aquafitness classes and health treatments.

The Paskál Gyógy- és Strandfürdő is more than just a spa. It’s a blend of history and modern wellness. It’s a family-friendly spot. It’s a place to relax and rejuvenate. It’s a testament to Budapest’s rich bathing tradition. And it’s a perfect starting point for exploring the vibrant Zugló district. So soak in the history soak in the waters and enjoy your time here.
