Even Pope Francis had a hand in its creation. When he was Archbishop of Buenos Aires, he started the project. He also named San Juan Diego the patron saint of florists.

The Parroquia San Juan Diego serves a community of about 16,000 people. Many are migrants. The church offers spiritual guidance and social support. It has become a welcoming home for many.

The church also provides assistance to the community. A “Casa Social” was created in 2009. It strengthens the church’s mission.

People come from different neighborhoods to visit this church. They feel closer to the Virgin of Guadalupe and San Juan Diego. The church brings the spirit of Tepeyac to Argentina.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the church prayed for San Juan Diego’s intercession. A statue of him was placed at the entrance. Parishioners hoped for an end to the pandemic.
