He is also known for his work on the beloved Chapel of El Rosedal. Pozo’s innovative design incorporated two narrow mirrored trapezoids to form the nave. The seating capacity was 380 people. Initially atriums were planned for both ends. Only one was built.
Inside the Parroquia de San Antonio de Padua you’ll find two small chapels. One is dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament. The other honors the Virgin of Guadalupe. These are serene spaces for quiet reflection. Multiple stained glass windows bathe the interior in colorful light. These windows are the work of José Reyes Meza. He often collaborated with Pozo. Meza also designed the ceramic mosaic works. They beautifully cover the facade and the bell tower. The bell tower a later addition arriving in 1976.
