This 43-story giant rises 605 feet piercing the San Francisco sky. It’s more than just a building. It’s a testament to ambition innovation and the city’s ever-evolving skyline. Park Tower at Transbay sits on Block 5 a space once filled with ramps for the old Transbay Terminal. Can you imagine that? Now it’s home to a modern masterpiece.
Originally this site was slated for residential buildings. But the city’s Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure had other plans. They wanted a skyscraper a true statement piece. A proposal for a 550-foot tower with 700000 square feet of office space went out. Several development teams competed for the prestigious project. Golub Real Estate and The John Buck Company won out with their stunning design. It included those amazing terraces you see today mini parks in the sky providing stunning views.
The groundbreaking ceremony was a big event on October 6 2015. MetLife invested heavily taking a majority stake in this project. The total investment was a staggering $345 million. The Park Tower at Transbay’s design is nothing short of breathtaking. The exterior is a beautiful blend of floor-to-ceiling glass and vertical glass fins. These architectural details accentuate the large outdoor terraces. The lobby was designed by Interior Architects making it a beautiful and welcoming space.
But here’s a fun fact. The entire office space is leased by Facebook. That’s right this enormous building is home to one of the world’s biggest tech companies. It’s the largest single lease deal in San Francisco history. Pretty impressive huh?
