North Cray was once a small village. As early as 1557, the parish was combined with St Botolph, Ruxley. The remains of that church lie south of the old Maidstone Road.

Every Sunday morning, the Parish Church of St James, North Cray holds a service. It starts at 9:30 am and lasts about an hour. It’s a service of Holy Communion.
