Phrakru Prakassa Dhammakhun the founder had a vision. He wanted to efficiently spread the teachings of Buddha. His dedication led to the temple’s relocation to 49 Bedok Walk. A wealthy Singaporean Buddhist Wee Thiam Siew generously helped make this move possible. He sold the land at half price. This act of kindness was vital in the temple’s expansion. Funding came from Thai Malaysian and Singaporean Buddhists. It was a true collaborative effort.
Construction began in 1970. The Supreme Patriarch Punnasiri Mahathera laid the foundation stone. This act blessed the new temple. It was completed in phases and consecrated in May 1973.
