Perhaps Palais Renaissance is more than just a shopping destination. It stands here on Orchard Road. Palais Renaissance is a 17-story development. It features 13 levels of offices and four levels of exclusive retail space. There are also two basement car parks here at Palais Renaissance.

Palais Renaissance opened in 1993. Yamasin Enterprise developed it. This was their second development along Orchard Road. The first was Delfi Orchard. Palais Renaissance bears a French name. That was an unusual decision for Orchard Road at the time. The intent was to offer an alternative to the European shopping mall. The target audience was Japanese tourists.

In 1993, City Developments Limited or CDL bought Palais Renaissance. From 2008 to 2009, Palais Renaissance underwent a major upgrade. This included installing the world’s first double-skin glass façade. It also featured musical dancing lights. Kajima Design Asia designed the façade. Hiroyasu Shoji of Light Design Inc designed the dancing lights.

The mall underwent further renovation in 2021. The work finished on October 10, 2022. The renovated mall features restaurants like Michelin-starred Sushi Kimura. You can also find P.S. Cafe and Merci Marcel here.

The enhancements include an expanded main entrance. There is now an alfresco dining area at the ground floor facing Orchard Road. This creates a bustling streetscape. It blends the public and private areas. Passers-by can soak in the atmosphere and activities.

The interiors of Palais Renaissance feature a soothing palette. Warm hues are applied to exquisite masonry. This carries through the curved atrium. Handpicked materials enhance the splendor. These include copper, marble, and gold trims. Artisanal techniques were used. Marquetry and hand-set mosaics elevate the classic renaissance allure.

Other upgrades include escalators to the basement. These improve accessibility. A sleek infinity mirror wall is in the basement. It is an eye-catching spot. It was specifically designed for picture-perfect moments. Improvements were also made for the office tenants. Geometric arches and curves are in the common areas. The office floor lift lobbies were upgraded.

Palais Renaissance is home to well-known establishments. These include The Writing Club, an upscale whisky library. New dining concepts have been introduced. Seventy-five percent of the tenants are exclusive to Palais Renaissance in Singapore.

New gastronomic experiences can be found here. Estuary is a stylish seafood restaurant and oyster bar. Caviar boasts the island’s largest selection of exquisite caviar. Ishinomaki Dégustation offers exclusively curated menus. They offer tailored wine, sake, or spirit pairings. Dessert enthusiasts can enjoy artisanal desserts at Cakebar.

Some of the latest lifestyle additions include Mutiny. This is a boutique gym. It caters to customers of different fitness levels. They offer Xformer workouts and meditative yoga sessions. Artifactt is a store well-loved by professional chefs. They are known for ceramic ware. LuxeHouze also debuts its first physical store. Watch collectors and enthusiasts can trade and purchase timepieces in person.

CDL introduced its proprietary CityNexus app to Palais. This is a smart building app. It aims to enhance the experience of its tenants. It facilitates greater convenience and heightened productivity. Tenants can access lease information and invoices. They can also update information and personnel remotely.
