Designed by Marcel Chappey, a winner of the prestigious Grand Prix de Rome in architecture, the building’s large glass windows, stained glass panels, and ironwork create a unique aesthetic. The Palais des Congrès d’Issy Charles Aznavour wasn’t always a home for the performing arts. It served as a community hub, hosting everything from sporting events to court proceedings. Later, it housed the Municipal Conservatory of Music and Dramatic Art. This very space has witnessed historical moments, like the 1969 congress that birthed the Socialist Party. In 2018, the Palais des Congrès d’Issy Charles Aznavour underwent extensive renovations. The upgrade modernized its facilities while preserving its Art Deco heritage. The main auditorium, with a capacity of 1,000, now features a modular stage and hearing loop technology. The Palais also boasts twelve meeting rooms and two exhibition halls. The revitalized façade, a registered historical monument, gleamed anew after its restoration in 2019. The city invested significantly to restore the Art Deco features and enhance its lighting.
