The history of Oxhey Park Golf Club runs deeper than you might think. Back in 1912 the club officially opened with a match between Ted Ray and Harry Vardon. Ted Ray the Oxhey professional won.

Ted Ray’s fame put Oxhey Park Golf Club on the golfing world map. He went to the USA and eventually won their open in 1920. Ray spent his life at Oxhey also building a reputation as a billiards player.

Many competitions were held at Oxhey. This included the News of the World tournament. The Hertfordshire Amateur Open and Ladies championships also took place here.

Imagine the crowds cheering at the News of the World tournament final in 1921. Bert Seymour of the Molesey Hurst club won after a tight match. The course challenged even the best golfers.

The Oxhey course saw changes over the years. In 1947 it became a municipal course with a par of 78. By the mid-1930s there were both 18 and 9-hole options.

Today Oxhey Park Golf Course provides a friendly public venue. It offers a relaxing atmosphere for all. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner you’re welcome here.
