Is it possible for a building to embody both tranquility and vibrant life? Here at Our Lady of the Woods Catholic Parish, you’ll find that delicate balance. Our Lady of the Woods isn’t just a place of worship. It’s a cornerstone of the Orland Park community. Established as a Roman Catholic Parish, Our Lady of the Woods has been a beacon of faith and fellowship for generations. Now, let me share a fascinating story about this special place. When the Archdiocese of Chicago reviewed the initial plans for a new Parish Center, they deemed it impossible within the given budget. However, the architects, Fox and Fox Architects, achieved what seemed unattainable. They designed a beautiful, functional, and most importantly, affordable 25,000 square foot addition and a 12,000 square foot remodel. This new space included 19 classrooms, offices, and even a gymnasium with a capacity of 500. This remarkable achievement earned Fox and Fox Architects profound gratitude from the pastor, parishioners, and staff of Our Lady of the Woods. Their dedication to creating a space for the community while respecting budgetary constraints speaks volumes about the spirit of this Parish. As you explore Our Lady of the Woods, take a moment to appreciate the dedication and commitment that went into building this incredible community hub.
