From its humble beginnings in 1901, Our Lady Help of Christians Roman Catholic Church has been a beacon of faith for generations of Chicagoans. Our Lady Help of Christians Church, nestled in the heart of the city, has witnessed the ebb and flow of life in this vibrant community. Established during a time of great change and migration, Our Lady Help of Christians Church quickly became a spiritual home for many new arrivals to Chicago. The church’s records, meticulously kept and preserved on microfilm, tell a story of faith, perseverance, and community. These records, dating back to 1901, offer a glimpse into the lives of the people who sought solace and guidance within the church’s walls. Baptisms, marriages, and confirmations are all documented, each entry a testament to the enduring power of faith and the importance of community. While Our Lady Help of Christians Church closed its doors in 2005, its legacy lives on. The memories held within its walls serve as a reminder of the importance of faith and community in a rapidly changing world.
