Oswald paid a mere $8 a week to rent the room, a stark contrast to the weight of his actions that would soon shake the world. The house itself, built back in 1935, became a silent witness to history. After the assassination, the home remained under the ownership of Gladys Johnson, the woman who had unknowingly provided shelter to a man about to make such a dark mark on history. Today, the Oswald Rooming House serves as a museum.
