But things haven’t always been easy for our beloved Twin Towers. In 1987, there was a proposal to demolish it, making way for a parking lot. Thankfully, the village residents rallied, recognizing the historical significance of the building. The Orland Park United Methodist Church was saved, eventually earning a spot on the National List of Historic Places in 1989.
