Founded in 1969 Open Door Baptist Church has a rich history. Pastor Ken Blue started it all in his Mountlake Terrace living room. For three years services were held in rented buildings. Then the church bought five acres on Lynnwood’s 44th Avenue. Hundreds found faith at Open Door. Many dedicated their lives to ministry. Pastor Ken Blue served for 39 years retiring in 2008. He was a remarkable man. He earned multiple degrees. He was a preacher teacher and author. He even traveled extensively spreading his faith. Pastor Jason Murphy became Senior Pastor in 2008. He continues the legacy of Open Door Baptist Church. The church still thrives. It welcomes new families each week. Open Door Baptist Church remains a cornerstone of the community. It’s a place where people find faith and fellowship. It’s a place where faith is shared and lives are changed. It’s a testament to Pastor Blue’s vision and Pastor Murphy’s leadership. This is Open Door Baptist Church a place of enduring faith.
