But back in the old days, it was a bustling farming community. The area was originally farmland, and it was a popular place for rearing horses.
Oaklands Junction even had its own post office, which opened in 1865. You can imagine it, a wooden building with a sign out front, where locals came to send and receive letters. It was the lifeblood of the community.
But as the years went on, the need for a local post office diminished. The town’s population began to grow less in the 1970s, and the post office sadly shut its doors.
