Once known as Polígono de Llevant, Nou Llevant is shaking off its industrial past. Today we explore this evolving district. Nou Llevant is a study in urban transformation.

This area began its urbanization in the 1970s. This occurred during a tourism and real estate boom. People came from all over to settle here. Nou Llevant is undergoing changes thanks to the construction of the Palau de Congressos in 2017. The eastern part of the neighborhood is being redeveloped. New residential buildings are planned. The city wants to address the shortage of non-tourist housing here. Land is also set aside for administrative buildings. Parks and gardens like Can Palou and Son Pedrals will add greenery.

Despite the transformation some challenges persist. Historically the city neglected this area. Issues like unsanitary conditions and a lack of civic responsibility remain.

But there is much potential to discover in Nou Llevant. Its charm is on the rise. The waterfront promenade offers stunning views. Palma Bay stretches out to the horizon. Nou Llevant may not be posh now. However experts suggest it could be a worthwhile investment soon.

Here you will find the sculpture Nuredduna. This beautiful sculpture of a woman was created in 1975 by the Mallorquin artist Remigia Caubet. She is an iconic figure of Mallorca. You can find her in the esplanade of Can Pere de Antoni.

Green spaces offer a break from city stress. Parks like Parc de Pocoyo, Parc Krekovic, Parc Llevant, and Parc de Can Palou invite relaxation.

Nou Llevant does not have municipal markets. Yet you will find supermarkets and pharmacies. Small shopping centers meet daily needs.

For a great sunset head to Anima Beach Club. It is located at the beginning of Palma City Beach. Enjoy Mediterranean food and drinks with lounge music. El Molino Mediterraneo in nearby Portixol offers quality food at reasonable prices.

Consider Krekovic Museum for art and culture. It is dedicated to the Croatian painter Kristian Krekovic. He is known for portraits and Incan-influenced art. The artist lived on the island from 1960 until his death in 1985.

Living in Nou Llevant offers peace. It is not too far from the center of Palma. Several middle and high schools make it suitable for families. The Agencia Tributaria and other governmental offices are also located here.

Luxury apartments are springing up in Nou Llevant. They boast attractive designs and high-quality furnishings. An exclusive garden lounge and wellness area ensure residents’ well-being. High-tech security and concierge services add to the appeal.

Nou Llevant is a neighborhood in transition. It blends residential, industrial, and administrative functions. Its transformation reflects Palma’s dynamic spirit.
