North Central University, or NCU, is an Assemblies of God university, which means it’s a Christian university with a Pentecostal foundation. Now, North Central is something special, it boasts a diverse range of academic programs, from business and technology to fine arts and music, all with a strong emphasis on preparing students for leadership and ministry. Did you know that North Central began in 1930 as the North Central Bible Institute? It started small, with only 26 students. But the school grew rapidly and, in 1936, moved to its current location on Elliot Avenue. The university expanded its offerings, eventually becoming North Central Bible College in 1957. It wasn’t until 1998 that the school finally took on its current name of North Central University. Now with over 850 students, North Central University is a vibrant center of Christian scholarship in downtown Minneapolis.
