The school suffered damage from German bombs during World War II. Yet, it refused to be defeated. The junior department became mixed, and in 1948, Norlington became a secondary modern school for boys. The school kept evolving. In 1964, an extension was added to house state-of-the-art science labs and workshops.
The 1980s brought about a new era. The school adopted its current name, Norlington School and 6th Form. This signified a fresh beginning, a commitment to providing a comprehensive education for young men. Norlington continued to adapt with the times.
