Wires of progress snake their way through the city. They all might just lead back to this very place. This is Neorol S.A. in Montevideo. It is more than just a factory. It’s a keystone in Uruguay’s industrial evolution.

Neorol S.A. started its journey in April 1996. It acquired the electric cable division of Funsa. Funsa was a well-known cable brand established in Uruguay since 1954. This acquisition marked a significant step. Neorol quickly expanded its facilities. It incorporated new equipment and technology. This modernisation helped it meet high standards. It also paved the way for its leadership position.

Neorol S.A. prioritized access to new technology. It invested in staff training. It committed to quality throughout the production process. This dedication ensured compliance with regulations. Neorol S.A. and its Funsa cables achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification. It was the first company in its sector to do so. The certification was under the control of LSQA. LSQA involves LATU and Quality Austria. Neorol has consistently renewed and utilized this certification. It does so to drive continuous improvement.

In 2010, Neorol decided to expand its production capacity. This was to support Uruguay’s growth. The expansion focused on low-voltage cables. It also included the manufacture of medium-voltage cables. These cables are insulated with XLPE. They can handle voltages up to 36 kV. This expansion doubled the covered area to over 12,000 m². A German-made catenary extrusion line was added. A medium-voltage laboratory for testing was built. Many other complementary machines were installed.

This new cable line and its technology put Neorol in a privileged position. It became one of the few factories in Latin America. These factories are capable of producing such a range of conductors.

Neorol S.A. actively contributes to Uruguay’s regional and global growth. It is part of the consolidation of Uruguay’s productive matrix. It embraces challenges related to renewable energy. This includes wind, biomass, and solar power. It also supports irrigation, ports, mining, and non-traditional industries.

Neorol S.A. stays dynamic amidst change. It continues to produce high-quality Funsa cables. These cables meet the quality you expect. Neorol is an Uruguayan industry with international technology. Standing here, you are witnessing a company that powers Uruguay’s future. Neorol’s commitment to quality and innovation ensures it remains a vital part of the nation’s progress.
