Is that a giant beetle? You might think you’re seeing things here at the Natureza Viva Mural. This captivating street art project transformed a mundane parking lot in Lisbon into a vibrant celebration of nature. The Natureza Viva Mural, meaning “Living Nature,” bursts with color and life. It features a mesmerizing array of flora and fauna. A scared fox dashes through a translucent forest. A woman with the head of a fox navigates a wavy blue ocean in a small red boat. A giant beetle, wings adorned with flower petals, appears frozen in mid-flight. The artists, Klit, Kruella d’Enfer, and Violant, wanted to contrast the urban environment with the untamed beauty of the natural world. They achieved this by incorporating elements like tree trunks, water lilies, and even a beehive with a firefly perched on top. The Natureza Viva Mural reminds us that even in the heart of the city, the allure of nature can be found in the most unexpected places.
