Established in 1992, Nanyang Polytechnic stands as a beacon of post-secondary education in Singapore. It operates as a statutory board under the Ministry of Education. Let me tell you more about this esteemed institution.

Nanyang Polytechnic began its journey with temporary campuses. These were scattered across Bukit Merah, Jurong, Outram, Tiong Bahru, and Yishun. Imagine the bustle of students moving between these locations. In April 1998, Nanyang Polytechnic finally consolidated its operations. It moved to its permanent campus in Ang Mo Kio.

The institution has seven academic schools. These encompass diverse fields of study. You can find the School of Business Management. Also the School of Chemical and Life Sciences. The School of Design is here. The School of Engineering and the School of Health Sciences are also part of it. Additionally, there is the School of Information Technology. And last but not least the School of Interactive and Digital Media is here.

Nanyang Polytechnic’s campus is vast. It covers 30 hectares. That is about the size of 60 football fields. The campus is designed like a town center. It aims to provide all conveniences within a self-contained environment. You’ll find a fully computerized library here. Also there are specialized laboratories. A Theatre for the Arts enriches the campus culture. An auditorium hosts various events. Retail outlets cater to academic and leisure needs.

Sports facilities abound at Nanyang Polytechnic. There is a track and field for athletes. An adventure challenge park tests students’ mettle. A gym promotes physical fitness. An Olympic-sized swimming pool is available. Tennis courts invite friendly matches. Rock-climbing walls offer a unique challenge. The air-conditioned sports hall accommodates badminton, table tennis, and basketball.

Nanyang Polytechnic also emphasizes foreign language skills. The Foreign Language Centre offers modules in French, German, Japanese, and Business Mandarin. It organizes cultural activities and exchange programs. These initiatives provide students with international exposure.

Nanyang Polytechnic has earned many awards. The Work-Life Achiever Award in 2012. The Singapore Quality Award in 2011. The Public Service Achievement Award in 2010. The Innovation Excellence Award in 2009. These accolades reflect its commitment to excellence.
