Right here before us stands Mussolla Taman Sri Nibong. It is a place of peace for the residents of Taman Sri Nibong. But what is Taman Sri Nibong?
Taman Sri Nibong is a residential neighborhood in Sungai Nibong. It is on Penang Island. Sungai Nibong got its name from the Sungai Nibong Kecil and Sungai Nibong Besar rivers. They both run through the area. Sungai Nibong Kecil is now a canal.
Taman Sri Nibong is a housing estate. Island and Peninsula developed it. People started living here around 1986. You will find various types of homes here. There are apartments and condominiums. There are also terrace houses.
In the middle of Taman Sri Nibong is a large playground. It was once called Dataran Bunga Raya. Now it is Taman Sri Nibong Recreational Park. This park is believed to be the second largest public park on Penang Island. Only the Polo Ground is bigger.
The Taman Sri Nibong Park started as padi fields and swampy land. This was in the mid 1980s. The developer planted trees. They chose types that would thrive in the tropical climate.
The Taman Sri Nibong Residents Association helps keep the park in good shape. They have built walking tracks around the park. Now there are three sets of paved walking tracks. They make it a great place for an evening stroll. The park is lit at night.
Taman Sri Nibong also has a second park. It is the Taman Sri Nibong Linear Park. It was created in 2010. So as you can see Mussolla Taman Sri Nibong is at the heart of a vibrant and evolving community.
