Built independently between 2018 and 2019 Musholla As-Salam stands proudly. It’s a testament to the faith and community spirit of the Muslim residents of Cluster Edelweiss. This humble house of worship wasn’t built by a grand corporation or government. It’s a grassroots project. It rose brick by brick thanks to the dedication of the local community. The Musholla As-Salam isn’t just a place for prayer. It’s a vibrant center of activity.
From the very beginning various activities blossomed within its walls. Ahad Pagi kajian sessions offered insightful teachings. A Taman Pendidikan Quran TPQ taught children the Quran using the engaging Ummi method. A Majelis Ta’lim Muslimah provided a space for women to deepen their faith. Even Sirah Nabawiyah sessions delved into the Prophet Muhammad’s life. Musholla As-Salam observed Hari Besar Islam holidays. And of course Ramadan was especially lively with special programs.
In 2020 the Dewan Kemakmuran Musholla DKM was formed. The DKM took on the responsibility of managing Musholla As-Salam and its numerous activities. The DKM acts as an umbrella organization overseeing all aspects of the Musholla. This includes the regular prayer services. It also coordinates special prayers like Tarawih Eid prayers eclipse prayers and funeral prayers. The DKM also manages the Infaq Shodaqoh and Zakat donations. These are used for Musholla maintenance and community support programs. The DKM also coordinates special programs for Islamic holidays.
The Musholla As-Salam continues to thrive. It remains a beacon of faith and community in its neighborhood. It provides a space for worship education and social connection for the Muslim community. The Musholla As-Salam is a reminder that even a small local mosque can have a significant impact. Its story is a beautiful reflection of community effort and devotion. It’s a place where faith is nurtured and community bonds are strengthened. It’s a true jewel of Jakarta.
