Al Mubarok Mosque stands as the first structure in Kuningan Jakarta Selatan. It has stood for nearly five centuries. Pangeran Kuningan first set foot in Jakarta to expel the Portuguese.

From the inscription on the front page, Al Mubarok Mosque was built in 1527. Pangeran Adipati Awangga known as Syekh Arkanuddin built it. He was also known as Pangeran Kuningan.

Pangeran Kuningan joined forces with Demak-Cirebon. Falatehan led them to seize Sunda Kelapa from the Padjajaran Kingdom. They renamed it Jayakarta. Pangeran Kuningan contributed to expelling the Portuguese. He drove them from Batavia and Sunda Kelapa to spread Islam.
