“Ever wonder about the origins of sacred spaces in bustling Jakarta? Today we stand before Mushola Al Ikhlas. This isn’t just another prayer space. It’s a testament to community spirit and perseverance.

In 1967 several neighborhood figures from the Cipete area met. They wanted to establish a mosque. This mosque would be a center for Islamic propagation.

These neighborhoods included Komplek PDK and Komplek Kehakiman. Others were Komplek Sekneg and Komplek Panca Niaga. Also involved were Komplek Perdatam, Komplek Indomarin and Komplek Hasta Griya. Komplek BDN and local leaders joined too.

The idea grew stronger with time. Thirty-five founding figures showed unwavering determination. H.D. Dachlan recalled their door-to-door efforts. The Cipete community welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm. H.MA. Husein noted that the idea for Mushola Al Ikhlas came up during Tarawih prayers. These prayers occurred in different homes.

Nine years later a historical moment arrived. The YMAI saw the creation of a prayer room. This later became Masjid Al Ikhlas. Construction took place from 1976 to 1979. Donors and worshipers contributed under Buya H. Amirudin Siregar. He was the General Chairman of YMAI from 1975 to 1987.

The founders of Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas YMAI numbered 35. Their names appear in the YMAI’s Deed of Establishment. Among them were Tuan Haji Ibrahim and Nyonya Soengkono. Nyonya Karim Halim and Nyonya Sjahbuddin were also founders. Nyonya Harris and Nyonya S. Jasin Doctoranda contributed. Tuan Harris and Tuan Djuhdi were also involved.

Tuan Brotomoeljono and Tuan M.A. Arifin also helped. Tuan A. Rasjid and Tuan M.A. Hasibuan were among the founders.

The establishment of Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas occurred on April 11 1967. Notary R. Soerojo Wongsowidjojo, SH created deed number 24. This was on July 31 1967. The deed underwent several amendments. The latest was with Notary Ny. Nur Sasono, SH under number 04. This happened on July 30 2004. YMAI’s Articles of Association were decided on September 9 2007.

Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas is located on Jl. Cipete 3 No. 3. It is in Rt 06 Rw 04, South Cipete, Cilandak, South Jakarta. You can call them at 021-7691571.

Yayasan Masjid Al Ikhlas owns a mosque building and an educational building. Masjid Al Ikhlas is quite spacious in Cipete 4500 m2. It has two floors and accommodates 1500 worshipers. The ground floor serves as a hall. It hosts training and other activities. The prayer room is on the 2nd floor. Additional areas on the south and east sides are grand. These areas also serve as community service centers.

There is also a school building to the east. This houses KB/TK Islam Al Ikhlas 1900m2. To the west is the SD and SMP Islam Al Ikhlas building 5600 m2. There is also a shop under the Ikhlas Sejahtera Sharia Cooperative Kopsyahira. It provides groceries and school supplies.

Mushola Al Ikhlas stands as a beacon of faith and community. It embodies the dedication of its founders. Their vision continues to inspire generations.”
