Here stands Mushala Baiturohim a testament to faith and community. What stories do its walls hold? What makes this place special? Let’s uncover the layers of history.

Mushala Baiturohim in Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta. This is not just a building. It is a place of worship. It serves the Muslim community.

The very name Baiturohim carries a deep meaning. It suggests a house of compassion or mercy. This reflects the spirit of Islam. Islam emphasizes kindness and community support.

Imagine the daily lives intertwined with this mushala. Prayers resonate within its walls five times a day. People gather here for spiritual reflection and guidance. This place is a hub for celebrations and solemn occasions.

The Baiturrahim Mosque in Ulee Lheue, Banda Aceh shares a similar name. It stands as a historical landmark. This mosque has witnessed trials and triumphs. Originally named Jami Ulee Lheu Mosque. It became Baiturrahim Mosque in 1873. This was after the Dutch burned the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque.

Worshipers then held Friday prayers in Ulee Lheue. The name Baiturrahim endures since then. The Aceh mosque faced numerous restorations since its inception. It was initially constructed entirely of wood. Weathering eventually wore the building down.

In 1922, the Dutch East Indies government rebuilt it. They used a European architectural style. This construction lacked iron or bone braces. It relied solely on bricks and cement. An earthquake rocked Banda Aceh in 1983. This undermined the mosque’s dome. The dome was not reinstalled during the subsequent rebuild. A normal roof replaced it.

Sixty percent of the mosque underwent a massive renovation ten years later. The front part remains original. The 2004 tsunami devastated the area. It leveled all surrounding buildings. But the Baiturrahim Mosque remarkably survived. Only twenty percent of the brick structure suffered damage. The people of Aceh revered it. It became a symbol of God’s greatness.

Though that Baiturrahim is far away. Our Mushala Baiturohim shares that spirit of resilience. Both buildings named Baiturohim stand for faith. Both inspire hope. They connect people to something greater.

Consider the countless prayers offered within these walls. Think of the community bonds that have formed here. The Mushala Baiturohim continues to serve. It is a beacon of faith. It offers solace to those seeking peace.

Today the Mushala Baiturohim stands. It is more than just bricks and mortar. It is a living testament. It represents the enduring spirit of community. The unwavering power of faith.
