Nestled in the heart of Flores, the Museo Barrio de Flores whispers tales of this vibrant neighborhood. The Museo Barrio de Flores isn’t just a museum. It’s a living memory, a testament to 218 years of stories. Located on the corner of Ramón Falcón and Bonorino, it’s a local gem. The Museo Barrio de Flores opened its doors in 2018. It houses a collection of photographs, postcards, paintings, and unique artifacts. These pieces offer a glimpse into the heart of Flores. Beyond the exhibits, the Museo Barrio de Flores also boasts three libraries. Within its 300 square meters, the museum also offers daily courses and workshops. These cater to children, teenagers, and adults, fostering a sense of community and lifelong learning. The Museo Barrio de Flores celebrates the literary genius of César Aira, a long-time Flores resident. His works are celebrated globally, translated into over 30 languages. The museum holds the world’s most comprehensive collection of his work. Many items are first editions or from limited print runs. The Museo Barrio de Flores also honors another notable figure: Pope Francis. A striking painting by Carlos La Rocca and a handwritten letter from the Pope himself mark this unique exhibit. It’s the only place in the world with a dedicated homage to Pope Francis, in the very neighborhood where he was born, raised, and chose his path to priesthood. Roberto Arlt, a prominent Argentine writer, also has a place within the museum’s walls. Known for his novels like “El juguete rabioso” and “Los siete locos”, his literary treasures are showcased in a dedicated display case. The Museo Barrio de Flores continues to inspire. It draws students and collectors from around the globe, eager to delve into Arlt’s captivating world. The Museo Barrio de Flores is more than a building. It’s where the past meets the present. It’s where stories are preserved, shared, and cherished.
