Its inaugural exhibition Un Ciel Intérieur An Inner Sky showcases the works of seven international contemporary artists. Their art beautifully intertwines with the museum’s permanent collection.

This collection boasts a captivating array of objects. From symbolic sculptures and intricate textiles to calligraphy and mirror mosaics these artifacts whisper stories of spiritual quests. Many date from the 19th century to the present day. A stunning granite kashkul a bowl traditionally used by Sufi mendicants serves as a powerful metaphor for spiritual purification. Ornate padlocks shaped like lions and peacocks symbolize the unlocking of worldly desires. Three commissioned sound installations envelop you in the meditative melodies and spiritual expressions of Sufism. The sounds range from traditional instruments like the setar and harp to the kamâncheh and oud. A dome immerses you in poetic verses sung in Persian and Arabic.

Even a recreation of a 1970s Iranian office is here. It’s furnished with artifacts from Hazrat Shah Maghsoud the 41st master of the MTO Shahmaghsoudi order. The artifacts include antique books calligraphic manuscripts and personal objects. They reflect his deep commitment to both spiritual and scholarly pursuits. A hologram of the master himself shares the teachings of Sufism.
