Even though the murder of Murphy Ranks was a terrible tragedy, his legacy lives on in the community. His wife, Christine, fought tirelessly to have his body returned to his homeland, Jamaica, for burial. She established a fundraising campaign, raising over $6,000 to bring him home. The Murphy Ranks Memorial is a reminder of how his life was taken too soon, but also a testament to the strength and spirit of a community that refuses to forget. Let his memory serve as an inspiration to fight against violence and injustice and to embrace compassion and love.
