What a magnificent creature! This, my friends, is the Mullum Mullum Owl Sculpture. It’s not every day you encounter a bronze owl with such presence, is it? This stunning piece of art, created by the talented William Eicholtz, isn’t just a pretty face. It’s a tribute to the powerful owl, a majestic species native to this very area, the Mullum Mullum Creek catchment. Unveiled in July 2017, the Mullum Mullum Owl Sculpture was commissioned as part of a larger environmental project. The Acacia Catchment Flood Mitigation Project, as it’s formally known, aimed to improve drainage and stormwater management in Ringwood. But back to our feathered friend. Look closely at its eyes. They sparkle, don’t they? That’s because they’re made of rhinestones, catching the natural light and drawing your gaze. The Mullum Mullum Owl Sculpture keeps watch over the Mullum Mullum Creek Trail, a popular spot for cyclists and pedestrians. It serves as a reminder of the area’s natural beauty and the importance of preserving it.
