Moussy-le-Vieux is a rural town. In 2022, it was categorized as such. It lies outside any urban unit. Yet, it is part of Paris’s area of attraction.

Moussy-le-Vieux also has the Domaine des Gueules cassées. This is a château. It once housed soldiers with facial injuries from World War I. The military cemetery includes Colonel Picot’s tomb. He was the first president of the Gueules cassées association.

In 1975, a new game joined the Loterie Nationale. This game was the Loto national. A center for processing tickets was set up in Moussy-le-Vieux. It was on the Domaine des Gueules cassées lands. The Française des Jeux still owns the site.

Moussy-le-Vieux had 1,475 residents in 2022. This is a 6.96% increase from 2016. The people of Moussy-le-Vieux are called Moussyssiens.

In 2014, the château of Moussy-le-Vieux was sold. It is now a hotel complex. It will have luxury suites and a restaurant. A conference center and a small museum are also planned. The project aims to boost employment and activity in the area.
